We All Have It...

One thing I have noticed that is an issue for Christians alike is their struggle with faith. This is a topic that I have even struggled with in a major way, and am still working on my faith in some areas of my life. But, believe it or not, we use faith on a daily basis whether we recognize it or not. An example of how we exercise our faith daily can be used in driving or even in working. When dealing with driving, we have faith that the other cars will remain in their lanes. We have faith that the bridges that we cross and tunnels we drive through will not collapse and will withstand our cars as we travel through them. We have faith in those that built and maintain those structures that we drive on daily. In reference to work, we have faith that at the end of the pay period, our employers will produce a paycheck for us, so we work a week, two weeks or even a month fully believing and trusting that our employer will pay us accordingly.

So then, why does the application of this same level of faith become so hard with our belief system when it comes to the promises of God? If we can trust individuals who make mistakes, who act erratically, and who purposely do things to hurt others, how much easier it should be for us to trust in a God that has our best interest in mind at all times. In my times of weak faith, I not only try to remember the practical ways I exercise my faith daily, and I also remember what Jeremiah 29:11 says: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future“. This alone strengthens my faith and motivates me to continue believing because God has explained his intentions for me.
