Hey party people!!
First, Happy New Year! I have additional posts coming your way about the things that have already happened in the new year! One of those things happened today:
I work in a cancer center, and I do not often get to see patients because of my position. Today, I needed a snack, so I walked out to the vending machine. When I got to the lobby, I saw a patient standing in the lobby. I complimented her coat, and this sparked conversation between us. She began to tell me that she got a call from her cancer doctor about her blood work, and they wanted to see her right away (which is never good). While we were talking, she paused and asked me to pray for her (before I started praying for her, she told me that she knew I was a Christian). Without hesitation, I grabbed her hand and prayed for her in the lobby.
This may not be such a big deal to most people, but the fact that this lady and myself are both Christians, and the Holy Spirit showed her this, is amazing to me. I am also excited that I thought I was going to get a snack, but God had a plan for my trip to the lobby. It is such a great feeling to know that two totally different individuals, who have never met one another, can come together and share their faith and pray in front of whomever walked past us in the process. This just shows how we did not let what society looks at (race, age, status, etc) affect our interaction with one another; and we were not ashamed to pray for her healing in the lobby of the building. One reason why this is such a big deal to me, is because about a year or so ago, my father prophesied to me that I would pray for some of the cancer patients, and they would be healed through the power of Jesus.
This is something that I will never forget, and I am happy that I was able to come in contact with this patient.
